Racing games your keyboard can actually drive

This page only accepts racing games that the four arrow keys can drive from start to finish. Every title opens inside the tab you are reading, with no install step, no sign-up form and no ad breaking into the middle of a lap. We pick games by asking two very specific questions: does the keyboard control feel comfortable, and can a five-year-old machine hold a steady frame rate. That is why you will find more trucks and buses here than on typical racing lists, because a slow vehicle is the cheapest way to keep frames smooth. Open any game in the section on the right and check it yourself within a minute.

Why it is arranged this way

Sorted by vehicle, not by label

Most racing sites sort by the developer's label, and two completely different games can share one sticker. Here the split is something you feel in the first twenty seconds: a car wheel, the lean of a motorbike, or the steering of a nine-metre truck. Sorting this way lets you guess how the keys will feel before you press them, which matters most when you play on a keyboard instead of a gamepad.

Every game was tested on the arrows

Many web racing games are built for a gamepad, then given a keyboard mode as an afterthought. Those usually demand nonstop key holds and punish every early release. We removed them from the list. Each game here has been driven for at least three laps on the arrow block, and the pass mark is finishing your first run without touching the mouse.

It runs on a five-year-old machine

The technical bar of this site is a laptop without a dedicated graphics card, a 1366 by 768 screen, and a steady frame rate through a full run. Any game that spins the fan up within two minutes is taken off the list, however good it is. That is why the truck and depot group is larger than you usually see, because low speed is the cheapest way to stay smooth.

Scores stay inside your browser

You do not need an account to have a leaderboard. Your records live in the browser storage of your own machine, and reopening the tab shows them at once. We deliberately avoid every login step, because for a five-minute bus-stop race, thirty seconds of form filling is a sixth of the play time.

Questions that keep coming up

Do the racing games here cost anything?

No. Everything in the list opens free, with no payment step and no content locked behind a sign-up screen.

Is there anything to download or install?

Nothing. Games run inside the browser tab, closing the tab ends them, and the machine keeps no installer files.

Will it run on a low-spec machine?

Yes, that is the selection bar of the site. If a game still stutters, start from the trucks and depot section, where low speed keeps frames steadiest.

Where are my scores kept when I close the tab?

In your browser storage on your own machine. No server holds your points, so clearing browsing data clears your records too.

I want to play with one hand. Which section?

Open the motorbikes or traffic weave section. Many games there accelerate automatically and you steer with just the left and right keys.
